Grindon Hall Christian School is celebrating after being named best secondary school in Sunderland. The school has been recognised for its grades attainment and the quality of the teaching and learning within the school. In 2015 63% of pupils achieved 5 or more grades A*-C GCSEs including Maths and English, compared to the 50.3% average for Sunderland and 53.8% average for England. 68% of Grindon Hall students achieved grades A*-C in English and Maths GCSEs compared to 52.8% for Sunderland and 55.8% for England.
Interim Principal, Mr Trevor Swann. commented, “We are delighted to be recognised at the best secondary school in Sunderland. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication from both our students and staff. We are looking forward to the new term and welcoming new students to the school.”
