All aspects of our pupils’ development are constantly monitored. This includes their confidence, motivation, self-esteem, involvement, wellbeing, their interests and learning styles and the progress they make in mastering skills and learning.

Other assessments take place during the year and include tasks and tests to monitor different areas of learning. We discuss with the children their learning objectives and set targets for next steps in learning. Teachers then share these with parents at formal reviews, open evenings and in the end of term reports.

Assessment, reports and parents’ evenings

Pupils are assessed by their teachers throughout the year. Results of these assessments will not always be reported to parents but will always be available from teaching staff. Towards the end of the year, pupils sit school exams, the results of which are reported to parents through the end of year report.

Additional progress monitoring processes are used in the Upper School. Reports are sent out to parents each term. Form tutors and subject teachers are always willing to discuss these reports with parents.

Parents’ Evenings will be detailed here soon. Parents are always welcome into school to discuss academic and pastoral matters at other times. Appointments can be made with staff through the school office.
